About
“BHASHA” stands for Benchmarks, Harmonization, Annotation, and Standardization
for Human-Centric AI in Indian Languages. The workshop is about improving and
setting standards for Indian language NLP / AI work: creating benchmarks,
defining annotation practices, harmonizing different resources, and developing
standardization.
- Garland: In Indian tradition, a garland (mālā) symbolizes respect, unity,
and offering. The garland of Bhāratīya script characters reflects diversity of
Indian languages; shows many scripts (languages) joined together — apt for
“harmonization” and “standardization” across many languages.
- Central Text: Putting “BHASHA” at center underscores that language is at the heart of the workshop. It anchors all other activities (benchmarks, annotation, etc.) toward serving languages.
- Hands: Emphasize that the workshop isn’t just technical — it is about responsible, human-centric development. The hands in logo symbolize stewardship of language resources, ethics, and sustainable practices.
We humbly offer this workshop in the service of Indian languages.
